Description

The mysterious Barbican is an impressive round bastion with seven turrets and 130 loopholes in its 3 meter-thick walls. Constructed in 1498 to safeguard the Florian Gate, the Barbican was once connected to it by a long pathway over a moat. Now, the Barbican and Florian Gate have been transformed into a museum devoted to warfare called the City Defence Walls, and admission is included with one entry ticket.
