Description

Originally constructed in the late-17th century by renowned architect Tylman van Gameren, the Church of St Anne has long served as an important site for the University of Warsaw, hosting the inaugurations of the academic year, doctoral promotions, and the resting places of many university professors and rectors. The interior of the church is one of great beauty, with a spacious, stark-white atmosphere filled with lavish furnishings, gravestones, epitaphs, and impressive stucco work and murals. As a result, the Church of St Anne is one of the finest examples of classical baroque architecture in Poland.
