A visit to the Monastery of Camaldolese Monks on Silver Mountain, located west of the Old Town and overlooking the Vistula, can be enlightening. Here, men can explore the church, crypt and learn more about the reclusive monks and their rigorous rules, any day of the year during regular opening hours. However, women are only allowed to visit on twelve designated feast days, such as Easter and Christmas.
