Description

The Remuh Synagogue, located near the cemetery, dates back to the 16th century Renaissance period. Before the New Jewish Cemetery opened in the late 18th century, this space served as the main burial ground for the area. Unfortunately, during World War II, the Germans desecrated the tombstones, however around 700 grave markers, including some remarkable Renaissance examples, were salvaged. When visiting, the admission fee covers entry to both the synagogue and cemetery.
