Description

The site of this 12th-century church was determined by the oxen that transported the remains of St Florian from Rome. As the animals refused to budge any further, it was considered a sign of divine providence. In 1582, despite a fire devastating the city, the church still stood. As a result, St Florian has been the patron saint of Kraków and firefighters ever since.
