For centuries, Wawel Cathedral has hosted many coronations, funerals, and burials of Poland's monarchs and nobles. The Sigismund Chapel (Kaplica Zygmuntowska), located on the southern wall of the cathedral, is renowned for its beauty and is recognisable from the outside by its gilded dome.
